Fellows also receive training in clinical protocol development and research in the field of blood and marrow transplantation and cancer immunotherapy. , , The treatment of patients eligible for stem cell transplant and immunotherapeutic treatments at MSKCC employs a multi-disciplinary team approach. The team includes medical oncologists, hematologists, transplantation immunologists, radiation oncologists, related laboratory and blood bank personnel, and advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners/physician assistants). Fellows are exposed to each of these disciplines, leading to a more complete understanding of the key components of transplant and immunotherapy-related care.
